a historian or anthropologist of computer science would ask why are developers writing `[...].map(i => log(...))` in the first place. why is there trust in this code pattern? why do developers re-use it? we know that we shouldn’t, and why but further, for all practical purposes, why is it occurring and what problems is it allegedly associated with solving?

y’all expect us to name people at past companies in interviews when we apply for jobs, so you should want to be naming and pointing out where these “awful” patterns are actually occuring “in the wild.”

be consistent, or stop inventing phantoms out of ghosts.
